The kiwi is a fruit from China, once called currant in China. Occidentals only discovered the kiwi at the end of 19th century (introduced first to New-Zealand). The kiwi is a flexible creeper which clings to trees but is cultivated on trellises. The kiwi flesh is tender, juicy, sweet and slightly acidic.
The litchi is the fruit of a tree from South China. The litchi is a small fruit, whose red, thin and rough shell gets more rigid as it ripens and becomes drab and brown. Its translucent flesh is juicy, very sweet and very flavoursome. Its taste reminds you of rose and wild strawberry. In this recipe, we combined it with delicate and flavoured raspberry.
